International Beauty Shines in The Bahamas

The Miss Universe global tour recently brought reigning Miss Universe Sheynnis Palacios to The Bahamas for the first time. Our beautiful Bahamas is not only attracting millions of tourists but even Miss Universe herself. Sheynnis was warmly welcomed by Miss Bahamas Universe Selvinique Wright, who proudly showcased the islands' stunning sun, sand, and sea. The highlight of her visit was a grand meet-and-greet at The British Colonial, where a parade of beauties, including past and current titleholders like Little Miss Bain and Grants Town's Gidgette Ramsey, joined the festivities. As Sheynnis and her delegation bid The Bahamas farewell, everyone agreed: what a memorable moment.

The Jib Room - Abaco

In this edition, our featured spot is The Jib Room at One Pelican Shores in Marsh Harbour, Abaco offering panoramic marina views and a rich history dating back to the 1970s. Despite a slight delay in service, the appetizers—especially the unique egg rolls and savory spinach dip—delivered exceptional flavors. The main courses, including a mango chicken wrap and lamb gyro, were less impressive but accompanied by standout homemade fries. Dessert—a hot brownie with vanilla ice cream—proved to be a delightful conclusion. Overall, The Jib Room provides a blend of coastal allure and relaxed elegance, making it a must-visit while exploring the Abacos. For an in-depth review visit www.tastywithkc.com.

Worldwide IT Outage:
How did It Happen?

A global IT crisis unfolded on Friday, traced back to a faulty update from cybersecurity giant CrowdStrike. The update wreaked havoc across airlines, banks, hospitals, and media outlets, disrupting essential services and grounding flights.

“This is a function of the very homogenous technology that goes into the backbone of all of our IT infrastructure,” explained Gregory Falco, assistant professor at Cornell University. CrowdStrike quickly clarified that the issue was a technical glitch, not a cyberattack. However, resolving the problem required extensive manual intervention, as analyst Richard Stiennon noted, “It’s really difficult to touch millions of machines.”

This major outage begs the question, what steps can we take to safeguard against such widespread vulnerabilities in our digital infrastructure?
