Wassup, Wybers!
Last week, I put y’all on to all the holiday events popping off in Freeport. This week, it’s all about Nassau! And trust me, there’s no shortage of things to do—it’s stacked.
Kicking things off:
Wednesday, December 18th: Ovadose: Raw is Law at Waterloo. If it’s anything like the mixtape, you already know it’s gonna be a whole dandy! It’s a pajamarama party with tunes strictly for the ladies, so grab your bestie, pull out those cute holiday PJs, and slide through.
Thursday, December 19th: Supremacy’s Frosted Fantasy at Oui Chic Lounge—sounds classy, right?
Friday, December 20th: Solstice Winter Wonderland. Judging by the promo vids, this one’s about to be legendary. Organize yuh crew and make it a movie!
The following week brings even more heat:
Christmas Eve (Tuesday, December 24th): Starstruck at the amphitheater at Nassau Cruise Port.
Christmas Day (Wednesday, December 25th): After you’ve stuffed yourself full of Ham & Turkey, head to Champagne and Mistletoe at Waterloo—it’s all about partying and popping bottles.
Boxing Day (Thursday, December 26th): Of course we know Junkanoo is not to be missed this year especially with all the controversy surrounding it in the news lately , but if you feeling for something else check out Brickhouse invades Nassau at Waterloo for a Freeport-meets-Nassau link-up.
Saturday, December 28th: Wrapping up December in style and bringing us into the New Year is 103.5 The Beat’s Rhythm + Blues concert, featuring sensational R&B stars K. Michelle, Lyfe Jennings, and J. Holiday.
Nassau’s already lit on a regular week, but this holiday season? The energy’s on a whole other level. So, throw on your best fits, have all the fun, but let’s keep it safe and party responsibly.

Valley Boys vs. Valley Boys: The Fight for Bay Street Glory
The Junkanoo world has been buzzing with controversy since the iconic Valley Boys group splintered earlier this year, leading to two factions: the “World Famous Valley Boys,” led by Brian Adderley, and the “Way Forward Valley Boys,” spearheaded by Trevor Davis. Once united under one banner, internal conflicts have now ignited a fierce battle for recognition, funding, and the right to compete in the prestigious A-Division.
The split became public during the Labor Day Junkanoo Rushout, where both groups took to Bay Street separately. Efforts to resolve the division have since been fraught with challenges. In September, the government initially awarded $30,000 in seed funding to each group, a decision criticized by the Junkanoo Corporation of New Providence (JCNP), which only recognized Adderley’s Valley Boys as A-Division contenders.
Tensions escalated this week when the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture declared that both factions were certified for A-Division participation. The JCNP responded with threats to postpone the parades, citing alleged political interference to protect Davis, the brother of Prime Minister Philip Brave Davis. Amid the turmoil, Attorney General Ryan Pinder clarified that the JCNP lacks authority to cancel parades and reiterated the need for impartiality.
Minister Mario Bowleg later announced that the Way Forward Valley Boys would march unjudged, further fueling the group’s frustrations. Davis’ faction has characterized the decision as a personal attack, inviting the public to judge which group best represents the Valley Boys legacy during the Boxing Day parade.
As legal battles loom and public anticipation builds, the question remains: which Valley Boys faction will win the court of public opinion, and will Junkanoo unity ever be restored? For now, the vibrant culture of the parade is overshadowed by the drama unfolding behind the scenes.
